Extract text from graphical subtitles
Recognize text in an embedded or supported graphical subtitle track, then correct and export the saved text.
Before you start
You need an account, credits and an available graphical subtitle track. Use a supported embedded track or, in a directory project, a SUP file or matching IDX and SUB files. Separate graphical files cannot be added to a file project. This workflow reads subtitle images in tracks; it does not read text burned into video or arbitrary PNG and JPG images.
Recognize the text of the graphical track
Inspect the graphical track
Open its media page and inspect the graphical subtitle asset and stream identity. Check that the physical source is available and verified. For IDX/SUB, the index and image-data files must describe the same track.
A missing partner file is not an empty subtitle document. Restore the pair before extraction.
Choose recognition and target
Open Open AI tools through Add subtitles or the graphical asset's extraction action. Choose that graphical source. The plan shows text recognition, plus translation only when required by the target language.
Review the estimate and launch
Read Your operation and check the outputs, stages, required credits and available balance. Then select Start generation. Keep the tab open while the operation needs this browser to prepare or upload its source.
If no estimate appears or your balance is too low, resolve that problem first. A disabled Start button means no operation has been launched.
Result
Successful recognition saves a text asset; a later translation produces another stage result when requested.

Check the result
Open the recognized text in the editor. Compare cues with the subtitle images, correct recognition errors and check timing before export. If translation was also requested, check its result separately. Neither result is written into your media automatically.
If something goes wrong
If the original source is unavailable, reconnect it. An ongoing operation may then offer Retry source. If the operation has finished, keep its successful results and plan new work for what is still needed. If live updates stop, reopen the existing operation before starting another.
